A flat ejector pin (or ejector blade) features a rectangular or flat-topped cross-section. It is specifically designed to push molded parts out of an injection mold in tight or angular spaces—like deep ribs, thin walls, or core details—where standard round pins are too wide or would cause surface damage. Features : 1. Rectangular Profile: Provides a larger, flat surface area to push on, distributing the ejection force more evenly over narrow sections of the part. 2.Specialized Materials: Typically manufactured using through-hardened or nitrided tool steels (like SKD61) to handle the extreme pressure and sliding friction of high-volume molding. 3.Custom Fit: Often machined via wire electrical discharge machining (EDM) to fit precisely at the bottom of deep product ribs without interfering with the mold cavity. Application : 1.Deep Ribs & Bosses: Ideal for ejecting tall, narrow structural ribs that would otherwise stick tightly to the mold wall. 2.Thin-Walled Sections: Distributes force across weak, thin areas to prevent the pin from punching through or cracking the plastic part during ejection. 3.Component-Specific Ejection: Used when part geometry restricts the use of standard round pins (such as on angular edges or flat stepped surfaces).
